Kat & Max - 08/05/11

I met Kat and Max last year when I shot a wedding for a friend of theirs out in Portland, Oregon. A year later and I was back to shoot their own! Travelling and shooting for friends does have its benefits, one of which was being able to crash with some of my closest friends from Montana, and spending a little extra time in the greater NW enjoying the lack of humidity.

The ceremony was actually held on Friday under St. John's Bridge which, incidentally, is an amzing spot for a ceremony. Afterwards there was an intimate dinner for family and friends. With the reception planned for Saturday evening, we had plenty of time during the day to enjoy the area, which included The Edgefield Hotel and surrounding restaurants/bars. A full day also allowed us to spend some time venturing out into the local vineyards for some nice golden hour shots.

The reception was at a private bar on the grounds, and was perhaps one of the best I've been to... ever. It was a relatively small group of people, all close friends who were near and dear to Kat and Max, and that proved to be a great combination of people for the perfect night full of genuine happiness, music, dancing and, well, drinking. Speaking of drinking... With just 15 or 20 minutes left before our bar closed down for the night, someone realized that the minimum charge for the night had not been met, short some $400 dollars. We needed to drink $400 dollars worth of liquor in 20 minutes or the bride and groom's money would have been blown out the window. Suffice it to say, we were successful.

Congrats again guys, it was a pleasure to be there.
